LM Responds to Social Media Threats Regarding Dec. 17th
Little Miami Local Schools is aware of rumors/threats circulating on social media, specifically TikTok, regarding December 17th as “National Shoot Up Your School Day,” threatening shootings, bomb threats, and other violent acts. While these threats and rumors do not target Little Miami specifically, we are taking preventative measures to bolster safety around all of our buildings.
Hamilton Township & Morrow Police Departments were made aware of this social media activity, and out of an abundance of caution, there will be an increased police presence on all of our LM campuses on December 17th. Ensuring that Little Miami Schools are a safe place for our students and staff to learn and grow will remain the top priority.
While we know this social media activity is out there, we also know that the vast majority of our students do the right thing every day. We are proud and grateful that they do what is right and value their school culture.
We want to thank the students and families who swiftly reported seeing the posts to LM administration and we encourage you to speak with your student and let them know that Little Miami takes every threat seriously. Students may face possible suspension and/or expulsion for making threats, along with possible legal consequences.
