AFJROTC celebrates year of accomplishments

The Flying Panthers of the LMHS Air Force Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps celebrated their first year of accomplishments at an awards ceremony on Friday, May 4.
The young men and women of AFJROTC OH-20171 shared a meal with families and group leaders Chief David Dillon and Lt. Col. Chas. Peterson. The chapter then recognized outstanding cadets for their achievements during the year. Three awards were presented by representatives from outside organizations.
This year’s winners were:
- Daughters of the American Revolution Award – Karina Lumley
- Reserve Officers Association Award – Kayla Regan
- Military Officers Association of America Award – Benjamin Long
- Tuskegee Airman Incorporated AFJROTC Cadet Award – Lacey Roark, Karl Kiphart
- Air Commando Association Award – Jacob Shepman
- Leadership Ribbon – Nicholas Cochran
- Outstanding Cadet Ribbon – Jacob Shepman
The JROTC color guard continues to make appearances locally and will appear at the FC Cincinnati game on May 19.
