Excessive Heat Watch
Dear Parents and Guardians,
We hope you're doing well. We want to inform you about an upcoming weather event that may affect your child’s comfort and safety at school and on the bus.
An Excessive heat watch has been issued for our area on Thursday, August 24th, as highs could top out in the upper 90s with a heat index of around 105.
We want to take every precaution to ensure the well-being of our students and staff.
With rising temperatures, we ask that your children wear relaxed and comfortable clothing. We recommend layered lightweight clothing for comfort and heat management.
Please remember to hydrate your child and, if possible, send a water bottle with them to school.
Please note that our buses are not airconditioned and will be warm. If you are concerned, please consider picking your child up at school on Thursday.
Don’t forget to communicate any change in pick-up procedure with your child’s building.
Depending on how high temperatures get, recess may be held inside.
Potential athletics changes will be communicated separately.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding as we navigate this challenging weather.
