Introducing LM's New Director of Food Services
A new school year means new faces! Little Miami is thrilled to welcome Mr. Ron McWhorter as the new Food Services Director. This summer, LM began a search for a new Director to lead the dedicated Food Services team after former Director Rachel Tilford accepted a position with Mason City Schools. We wish Mrs. Tilford the absolute best in her new journey & are grateful to have found a distinguished and qualified replacement to continue the great legacy of LM Food Services.
Mr. Ron McWhorter comes to Little Miami as a highly recommended nutrition specialist from Fairfield City Schools. He says he was drawn to the position at Little Miami because of our community growth and Food Service program success under former Director, Rachel Tilford.
Prior to joining Little Miami, Mr. McWhorter found success at Fairfield City Schools, where he notably led a team of staff & volunteers to serve 100,000 student meals in the first six weeks of the COVID-19 school shutdown. McWhorter also has extensive experience in the business side of the food service industry, where he previously worked as food manufacturing representative. With his business & private sector knowledge, Mr. McWhorter will certainly bring a unique perspective to the job this fall!
In anticipation of starting this role on August 16th, McWhorter states, “I would like to see every nutrition employee grow both personally and professionally. I want to create an environment where all ideas are welcomed and discussed.”
On a personal note, Mr. McWhorter is the proud father of two adult children and has been happily married for 33 years. He is excited to start his journey with Little Miami & all of the hungry Panthers could not be more excited to welcome him to the community!
