Little Miami Academic Team was the Runner-Up in the NAQT Ohio State Championship
Posted on: March 31, 2025

On Saturday, the Little Miami Academic Team was the Runner-Up in the NAQT Ohio State Championship (NAQT is the national format for quiz bowl in the US). On the day, the team went 11-2 and defeated Zane Trace, Mohawk, Black River, Worthington Kilbourne, St. Xavier, Talawanda, Solon and (eventual champions) Northmont. The team gave a valiant effort, coming up just short of the title on the last question.
This is the best Little Miami has ever performed at this tournament in program history, and the best a Cincinnati-area team has finished since 2009! Starters included Brennan Hubbard, Aaron Reza-Quiros, Jacob Woods, Kevin Houser & Kallum Ford. Team Captain Brennan Hubbard was named Player of the Tournament with the highest points scored per match average!
This brings the varsity squad's overall record to 80-9, the best in program history! The team will now prepare for the OAC (Ohio Quiz Bowl format) Southwest Regional Tournament on April 12th. Fantastic job Panthers!
