LMMS Back to School Information #2
Attention LMMS Families! As we get closer to the start of the school year we wanted to send out a few important reminders and dates:
- Cell phones - In order to continue our focus on academic success, students (grades 6-8) are not permitted to use cell phones during the school day. We are asking that if students bring their cell phone to school, that they keep it locked in their lockers. Students will not be permitted to carry cell phones with them during the school day.
- School Hours:
- Doors to cafeteria (entrance B8) open to Car Riders: 6:40 AM
- Students Dismissed from Buses: 7:10 AM
- School Day Begins: 7:20 AM
- Students Dismissed: 2:00 PM
- Computer Pick Up - LMMS is offering a Device Pick Up on August 3rd and 4th between 8 and 12.
- Students will be able to access their schedule ONLINE and will have the opportunity to walk the building to find classrooms and find their lockers. Printed schedules will NOT be available in the office during this time frame.
- All students will enter through the cafeteria doors. 6th grade pick up will be in the library and 7th and 8th grade will be in the cafeteria.
- Incoming 6th grade and new families, please ensure that you have completed the device agreement prior to August 3rd. Please click the link below for access to the device agreement:

- Computers will also be available for pick up during Open House on 8/10 from 5:00-7:30 PM.
- Please take the time to practice opening your locker during this time, as hallways will be very crowded during Open House. Teachers will not be available during this time.
- Our Open House is August 10th from 5-7:30. Please plan to attend based on your student’s last name.
- A-G - 5-5:45
- H-O - 5:50-6:35
- P-Z - 6:45-7:30
**Incoming 6th grade families, please be aware that this is a different format than the conferences you had with your students’ teachers in grades K-5. Open House is a great opportunity for you and your student(s) to walk around and see classrooms and familiarize yourself with the building. You will also be able to see and meet your student(s)’ teachers. Please take this time to introduce yourself and meet your teacher, but if you have specific questions or concerns for your child, please send an email directly to your child's teacher or schedule a time to meet with them. The number of people at open house makes longer conversations difficult.
- Lockers
- Lockers have been assigned and are listed on the student schedule (available 8/3)
- Locks are provided and are on the students’ lockers.
- The combination for the lock is on the student schedule.
- Please take the time to practice opening your locker during this time, as hallways will be very crowded during Open House. Teachers will not be available during this time to help with locks.
