Red Ribbon Week Oct. 26-30
Posted on: October 26, 2020
Happy Red Ribbon Week Panthers! This week at LMIS, students are celebrating the theme “Be Happy, Be Brave, Be Drug Free” to bring awareness against Drugs/Alcohol, Bullying & Violence. On Monday, many students & staff dressed in red to symbolize the love for family, friends & self. The cafeteria menu even incorporated the theme!
Each homeroom is given a daily participation challenge, with the winner of each themed day earning the prized “LMIS Spirit Award” at lunch. Monday’s winner was Mr. Hounsehell’s Homeroom, who had 100% participation in wearing red! Way to go Panthers!
To celebrate Red Ribbon Week, the following themed days will continue the rest of the week:
- Tuesday, 10/27: “Put a Lid on Violence” – wear your favorite hat!
- Wednesday, 10/28: “Living Bully-Free is No Sweat” – Wear your favorite sweatpants/workout clothes.
- Thursday, 10/29: “Chose to Smile. BE HAPPY and Start Your Day with HELLO” – Wear emojis or fun smiley faces.
- Friday, 10/30: “Give Drugs a Scare” – Wear your Halloween costume or wear orange in honor of National Unity. Orange also symbolizes hope, support, safety and visibility, sending the message that we are united for kindness, acceptance, and inclusion.
