Digital Media Arts Students Win Viddy Award!
The LMHS Football Video Crew, comprised of students from the LMHS Digital Media Arts program, has received a Gold Level Viddy Award in the category of non-broadcast sports video! Instructor Mr. DeSanctis says that, “These talented students volunteer their time and energy to shoot and edit incredible game highlights because they have a tremendous willingness to learn and want to be part of the impressive work released by this top-notch crew.”

About the Viddy Awards:
Viddy Awards is an international competition honoring video excellence in a digital world. Viddy traces its roots to 1994 when it was known as the Videographer Awards. Viddy Awards’ categories are the products of the industry’s evolving tools, including, long and short form videos, broadcast and non-broadcast television programs, commercials, social media videos, podcasts, remote learning, animation, and virtual and augmented reality. Viddy entries come from video production companies, cable and broadcast television operations, advertising, design, digital, and public relations firms, corporate communication departments, and individuals. Entrants include videographers, cinematographers, writers, editors, directors, producers, digital artists, influencers, account executives, and other creatives. Viddy Awards is administered by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP). The international organization oversees awards and recognition programs and honors outstanding achievement and service to the profession. Judges are industry professionals who look for companies and individuals whose talent exceeds a high standard of excellence and whose work serves as a benchmark for the industry. About 18 percent of entries won Platinum, the top award. About 16 percent won Gold and approximately 12 percent were Honorable Mention winners.
About the LMHS Digital Media Arts Program:
The Digital Media Arts program at Little Miami High School is a satellite program of the Warren County Career Center. The program includes three classes, including a single-bell single-semester introductory course (Intro to DMA) in addition to two upper-level block programs (DMA 1 & DMA 2). The introductory course provides students with a foundation of creating and editing with Adobe Photoshop, video editing with Adobe Premiere, and basic animation creation using Adobe Animate. The upper-level block programs are full-year, double-bell immersive experience with video production, digital design, and animation. The DMA 2 course produces the award-winning Panther Show and the program culminates with the opportunity for students to sit for the Adobe Certified Expert Exams.
