Update on LMHS
The following email was sent to Little Miami High School families on Thursday, Oct. 4 at 5:15 p.m.
Dear Little Miami High School families,
I am writing to provide an update on the situation that occurred at the high school on Wednesday, Oct. 3.
To recap: An unspecific threat was found on the wall of the second floor boys’ bathroom at dismissal on Wednesday. The threat did not mention a time, a manner or a location, but threatened violence. The matter was referred to our school resource officer and the Hamilton Township police department. Law enforcement conducted an investigation and they now state that it was not a credible threat.
As a school district, we must take every threat seriously, which is why we involve law enforcement immediately. Anyone caught making a threat of violence at school can be charged with inducing panic and can face prosecution.
One of our primary missions is to provide a safe learning environment. When these events occur, we understand students and families feel very real concerns, as do we. There were several rumors and false social media posts. The entire day was spent working with law enforcement to follow up on every lead that was brought to us.
And as a final note: High school students have advisory tomorrow morning and should be at school by 7:15 a.m.
