Pam Coates Retirement

With mixed emotions, we announce the well-deserved retirement of our Human Resources Executive Director, Mrs. Pam Coates. We can’t begin to express our deepest gratitude for her commitment and leadership to Little Miami Local Schools.

On the evening of April 30th, Mrs. Coates informed the Little Miami School Board of her intention to retire as Human Resources Executive Director at Little Miami Local Schools, effective August 1, 2024. This well-deserved retirement comes after 53 years of service at Little Miami Local Schools.

During her time at Little Miami, Mrs. Coates has held the following positions: Teacher, Principal, and Executive Director of Human Resources. She has led the mentor program for new hires, been a building curriculum representative, Title IX Coordinator, and Federal Grants Coordinator, and served on teams for both sides of the LPDC Committee. She also earned the Ashland Oil Golden Apple Achiever Award and The Martha Holden Jennings Master Teacher Award.

Mrs. Coates is Little Miami!

“Pam was the ultimate role model for me.  She leads with wisdom, kindness, and, most of all, grace.  Pam's devotion to her students, families, and staff is her badge of honor.  There is no person at Little Miami whose life she hasn't touched.  We have all been blessed by her many years of service to Little Miami Schools,” Maryann Duffy.

“Pam was the most professional and ethical lady I have ever worked with. Our school at Butlerville ran like a well-oiled machine and every teacher who worked for her respected her. Pam was not only our well-respected boss, but also our friend. She cared very deeply for her staff and students,” Tonya Carmack.

“Pam Coates is a person I strive to be more like.  She is kind, caring, and compassionate - but also professional, knowledgeable, hard-working, and respected by everyone who knows her.  After 53 years at Little Miami, she has certainly earned a wonderful retirement.  I wish Pam the best and hope she knows just how much she will be missed,” Regina Morgan, Superintendent.

Thank you, Mrs. Coates!
