Salem Twp. Elementary wins state award
Salem Twp. Elementary School recently received recognition from the Ohio Department of Education for helping students grow even beyond state achievement goals.
This is the second year Salem Twp. received ODE’s Momentum Award for straight As on all value-added measures on the state report card. In order to win the award, the school must have at least two value-added subgroups of students, which include gifted, lowest 20 percent in achievement and students with disabilities.
Salem Twp. Elementary is one of just three schools in Warren County and 174 in the state to win the Momentum Award.
In a statement announcing the 2019 Momentum Award recipients, State Board of Education President Laura Kohler said, “The students, teachers, administrators and staff honored today are shining examples to peers and colleagues around Ohio. We are both encouraged and challenged by the example of excellence they are setting.”
