April is Month of the Military Child
LM would like to recognize our military-connected students this April during the Month of the Military Child (MOMC). These amazing children are strong, brave, proud of the service their family members have dedicated to our nation. We celebrate their selflessness and sacrifice as they serve our country as part of a military family, not just in April, but all year long.
April is set aside as a military child appreciation month, officially known as the Month of the Military Child. With its creation in the mid-1980s, the Pentagon and other military support organizations and agencies use the month to recognize military kids for their sacrifice and bravery at home. Because purple is a color used to represent all military services, the theme "Purple Up" is used over the course of the month.
One of the ways to celebrate military connected families & raise awareness of their service is by wearing purple throughout the month of April. LMPR, LMES, LMMS, and LMHS will celebrate "Purple Up Day" on April 6th, while LMECC will celebrate on April 21st! Let's show our support for our military families!
