LM Teachers and Staff Receive First Round of COVID-19 Vaccine
On Friday, February 19th, 2021, Little Miami staff and teachers who opted to receive the COVID-19 vaccine were inoculated with the first dosage of the Pfizer vaccine. In a planning effort that spanned months, this vaccination went smoothly & efficiently, with very few staff members waiting in line at any given time. Little Miami proudly partnered with Mercy Health/Jewish Hospital, who sent three vaccinators to Little Miami High School to help administer vaccines to approximately 62% of LM staff members in just under four hours. After arriving for their scheduled time allotment, staff members were quickly vaccinated and then ushered to the gymnasium bleachers, where they could be observed for potential adverse effects in a socially distant manner. In total, vaccinated teachers/staff members were able to be in and out of the vaccine administration area within 20 minutes!
Little Miami Local Schools would like to extend a special thank you to LM nurses, Student Resource Officers and Mercy Health/Jewish Hospital for their assistance in making today as safe and efficient as possible. It is our hope that this vaccination effort not only continues the possibility for safe in-person learning, but more importantly, helps protect our teachers, staff, and the larger Panther community against COVID-19.
The second round of COVID-19 vaccinations is scheduled for Friday, March 12, 2021. On this date, all LM Students will again be in remote learning. While remote learning can be a challenge for many families, we appreciate the patience from the community as we fulfill the opportunity to protect our staff and teachers. Go Panthers!
