LMMS Back to School Information
Posted on: July 20, 2023
Attention LMMS Families! We hope everyone is enjoying their summer! We wanted to send out a few important reminders and dates:
- Student schedules: Student schedules and information will be available August 3rd on Progress Book. We will make announcements via social media and School Messenger when these schedules are available!
- ProgressBook Information: Each student will be able to access their schedule, locker information and homerooms through ProgressBook through the following link: https://parentaccess.swoca.net/district
- Sixth grade, seventh grade, eighth grade and ALL NEW students (6th - 8th) will log into ProgressBook using the following format:
username: lastnamefirstname
- Cherryryan
password: lastinitialfirstinitiallunchcode (PASSWORD IS CASE SENSITIVE, YOUR INITIALS ARE CAPITALIZED)
- Our Open House is August 10th from 5-7:30. Please plan to attend based on your student’s last name.
- A-G - 5-5:45
- H-O - 5:50-6:35
- P-Z - 6:45-7:30
**Incoming 6th grade families, please be aware that this is a different format than the conferences you had with your students’ teachers in grades K-5. Open House is a great opportunity for you and your student(s) to walk around and see classrooms and familiarize yourself with the building. You will also be able to see and meet your student(s)’ teachers.
- Computer Pick Up - Student computers will be available for pick up at Open House, which will be a very busy evening. To alleviate this, LMMS is offering a Device Pick Up on August 3rd and 4th between 8 and 12.
- Students will pick up their computers and will need to login to the computer prior to leaving the building. After this, students will be able to access their schedule ONLINE and will have the opportunity to walk the building to find classrooms and find their lockers. Printed schedules will NOT be available in the office during this time frame.
- All students will enter through the cafeteria doors. 6th grade pick up will be in the library and 7th and 8th grade will be in the cafeteria.
- Incoming 6th grade families, please ensure that you have completed the device agreement prior to August 3rd. Please click the link below for access to the device agreement:
- Please take the time to practice opening your locker during this time, as hallways will be very crowded during Open House. Teachers will not be available during this time.
- Back to School Shopping: We know a lot of you are school shopping so please remember to buy outfits that fit within the school dress code. The complete dress code can be found in the student handbook, but here are the basics:
- No hats or hoods can be worn in the building.
- Students' upper garments must have sleeves, cover shoulders, cleavage and midriffs when students are standing, sitting, or reaching overhead.
- Students' lower garments must extend to at least the upper thigh when sitting, standing, or reaching.
- Clothing and accessories should not include obscene, violent, gang, tobacco, drug or alcohol related writing or images. Items should not have writing or images that are vulgar, offensive, libelous, promote intolerance or confrontation.
- Backpacks
- If students wish to carry backpacks during the day (between classes) they must be clear (not mesh) backpacks.
- Students can bring other backpacks TO school but they need to be kept in their lockers.
- If you have any questions, please contact your grade level administrator.
