Ohio's New Learning Standards
In June 2010, the Ohio State Board of Education adopted Ohio's new learning standards in English language arts and mathematics, the results of a multi-state effort. The board also adopted Ohio's learning standards in science, social studies, fine arts, world languages and several other subjects.
As part of these standards, Little Miami students will spend more time on fewer concepts, digging deeper into writing, close reading and mathematics. The days of "a mile wide and an inch deep" instruction are a thing of the past.
